SX2L / SX2LF CNC Mounting Kit
Special introductory pricing available for a limited time.
Take your Sieg SX2L or SX2LF to CNC, without cutting, drilling or modifying the machine.
This 3D-printed mounting kit gives you the mechanical mounts for a full XYZ CNC conversion.
Affordable CNC, on a real mill. Already own one? Upgrade it for a fraction of the cost of a new CNC machine. Don’t have one yet? A mill plus this kit and parts can still cost less than many desktop CNC machines, and you get a proper metal-cutting mill rather than a lightweight hobby machine.
Please note: This is a mounting kit, not a complete CNC system. Made for the Sieg SX2L and SX2LF only.

- Tools needed: angle grinder (to cut ball screws to length), bench vice and standard hand tools
- Designed for: NEMA 23 stepper motors and ball screws (sizes and part guidance in the PDF manual)
- Parts budget: around A$1,000 is a healthy budget for the parts you supply, based on our own build. Excludes the mill and this kit. Your total depends on what you choose and where you source it.
Fitment & Performance
- Compatibility: Fits the Sieg SX2L and SX2LF. Other Sieg mills (X2, SX2P etc.) have different mounting geometry, so don’t assume the kit will fit. Machines sold under other brands that are based on the SX2L or SX2LF may fit, but haven’t been tested. If your machine is modified, check clearances before buying, or message us with your model and photos.
- Cutting: Tested on aluminium and wood, not yet on steel. This is a hobby-level conversion, best suited to light to moderate cuts. For deeper cuts, use multiple shallow passes and well-tuned feeds and toolpaths. Results depend on your tooling, G-code and setup.
Support & Safety
- Support: Send us a description of the issue and a few photos and we’ll help where we can. Covers installation, the manual, troubleshooting the kit and the intended configuration. Not covered: third-party component compatibility or heavily customised setups. Does not replace your consumer guarantees or create a lifetime warranty.
- For DIY builders with intermediate workshop skills and CNC knowledge. Read the PDF manual first.
- PLA+ parts: keep away from heat, inspect before and during use, and check fasteners are secure.
- Check free movement on all axes before machining.
- CNC machinery can cause injury or damage if incorrectly assembled or operated.
