Short version: we collect what we need to take your order and send it to you, and nothing more.
Who we are
Spanner Science is run by an individual seller in Australia. You can contact us at enquiries@spannerscience.com.
What we collect
- When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and the details of what you bought.
- Payment details: you enter these on Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your card number.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you tell us.
- Automatically: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles ordinary technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Your cart: items in your cart are saved in your own browser on your own device, not on our servers.
How we use it
- to process payments, pack and post your order, and contact you about it,
- to answer your questions and deal with returns,
- to keep records we need for tax and legal reasons, and
- to protect the site and our customers from fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your information. We do not send marketing emails. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.
Who we share it with
Only the services we need to run the shop, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe takes your payment.
- Australia Post delivers your parcel, so your name and address (and sometimes your contact details) are used for delivery.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores our order records and product files.
- Resend delivers our emails about orders.
Some of these providers are based overseas, including in the United States, so your information may be processed outside Australia.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. Stripe's checkout and Cloudflare's security systems may set their own cookies, which are controlled by them.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes, which is generally at least five years. Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.
Keeping it safe
Our order records are held with reputable providers and can only be opened by us after logging in. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We may need to keep some order records to meet our legal obligations. Email enquiries@spannerscience.com.

Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
